Masters Dissertation:
Improving workplace accessibility and inclusion for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals in media industries
In August, 2022 I completed my final postgraduate dissertation at The Glasgow School of Art. My project, Improving workplace accessibility and inclusion for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals aims to identify clearer action plans for executives to establish within their studios as well as identify accessibility avenues that can be improved.
This dissertation allowed me to combine my interests in multimedia, design research, and accessibility into a final project that I greatly enjoyed creating. In addition to the visuals and documentation I created, I also enjoyed connecting with Deaf advocacy and media inclusivity experts who helped enrich my research findings for my topic.
Below is a PDF of my dissertation project journal, documenting my research process, including: desk research, key interview findings, and final policy recommendations.
